New Delhi [India], October 8 (ANI): As the BJP leads to the majority mark and edges towards a hat-trick in the Haryana assembly, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday credited the party’s “victory” to the public and the workers of the party and said that the work BJP has done for Haryana’s wrestlers, farmers and youth, Congress could have never done that.
“The issue (of election) was that the work we have done for Haryana’s wrestlers, farmers, youth, Congress could never do that. I just want to say that the credit for this victory goes to our party workers and the people of the state. The public has stamped on our victory and this credit goes to them and the workers of the party,” Khattar said.
Union Minister also took a dig at the Congress party for allegations on the Election Commission by reiterating the Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini’s remarks.
He said, “Our CM already said ‘Ek din aaega jab janta degi jawaab aur yeh (Congress) ek hi baat kahenge ki EVM kharab’…”
Since the counting trends are contrary to the exit polls, Khattar said that the predictions failed earlier too and the public doesn’t tell their ‘Mann ki Baat’ to everyone.
“The one who predicts needs to do introspection on their way. The public doesn’t tell their ‘Mann ki baat’ to everyone. Predictions have failed earlier too, so, one who conducts such surveys should do their assessment deeper,” Khattar said.
Reacting to the ’36 Biradari’ remarks of Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, he said, “I can talk about myself…You should ask Congress about this. In 2014, I had said ‘Haryana ek, Haryanvi ek’, and our CM also believes the same and works with the same attitude.
Amid these trends, firecrackers were burst outside the residence of former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar in Delhi.
Earlier, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal exuded confidence in BJP winning both of these Assembly elections.
“BJP will win for sure. Till now, the news we have received is enthusiastic. This is the result of hard work that PM Modi has done in the last 10 years for all the sections of society,” Sonowal told reporters here.
According to the latest update on the Election Commission website, the BJP candidates have won 26 seats and are leading on 24 seats of the total 90 Assembly seats in Haryana while the Congress has won 20 seats and is leading in 15 seats in the state. Two independent candidates have also won the seat. (ANI)
