New Delhi [India], September 18 (ANI): Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the second edition of the Inclusion Conclave organised by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) in Delhi on Wednesday.
Speaking at the conclave, the minister highlighted the achievements of the country in sports and also reiterated the commitment to prioritise the promotion of sports by empowering disabled sportspersons.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has made remarkable strides in sports. Our focus remains on providing quality training, developing inclusive infrastructure, and discovering talent from the grassroots. This holistic approach ensures that everyone, regardless of background or ability, has the chance to excel and contribute to India’s sporting success. India’s commitment to prioritise the promotion of sports by empowering the Divyang sportsperson, under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ” the minister said.
Raksha Nikhil Khadse, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, also attended the conclave.
The minister also highlighted the the country’s role in anti-doping efforts through international cooperation and enhanced capacities. He also released the “NADA India’s Anti-Doping Guide” in braille, pushing away the barriers of exclusion in the anti-doping landscape.
Raksha Nilkil Khadse also addressed the concalve and highlighted the country’s deep-rooted commitment to ensure that every individual, regardless ofany background has the opportunity to participate and excel at sports.
Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Rajesh Aggarwal and Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities also addressed the gathering.
Additionally, Dr Mayumi YaYa Yamamoto, Director of Asia/Ocenia office of WADA also joined the conclave virtually.
A statement released by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports said the conclave had featured a variety of panel discussion, attended more than 500 people.
“The Conclave featured engaging panel discussions on key topics like legal framework, technology, sport values, along with insightful reflections from our para-athletes, and an inclusive anti-doping workshop on significant topics which will help shape the future of inclusion in anti-doping,” read the statement.
More than 500 people participated in the conclave, serving as a vital platform for attendees to collaborate, share insights, and develop strategies to ensure fair play and specifically tailored anti-doping programs for all athletes. (ANI)
