Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], January 27 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has stressed the need for global peace, saying the world does not need war, but the path of wisdom and non-violence shown by Lord Buddha, which he believes is the true path to achieving world peace.
“Today the world does not need war, but the path of knowledge shown by Buddha. The path of Lord Buddha is the path of world peace. This path leads us to peace of mind, compassion, love, affinity, and world brotherhood,” Chief Minister Yadav said.
Chief Minister Yadav was addressing the 9th International Buddhist Festival organized in the Chuna Bhatti area of Bhopal on Sunday. On this occasion, he presented the “International Buddha Peace Award” to the personalities selected by the organizers and also released a “souvenir” based on the festival, as per an official release.
“The path shown by Buddha is the best to bring harmony in the society. We are moving forward in this direction. The government will work for social development along with the Buddhist community,” Chief Minister Yadav said.
Chief Minister Yadav assured to declare the site located at Chuna Bhatti a permanent Buddhist land. He said that we are all one and together we will develop this sacred Buddhist land.
Chief Minister Yadav also said that his government is moving towards the creation of an egalitarian society by following the path of peace shown by Mahatma Gautam Buddha and Baba Saheb.
“Our government has always given respect to Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has developed Baba Saheb’s birthplace, his study place, his initiation place, Chaitya place and Mahanirvana place and called them Panch Mahatirtha. Our government is moving towards the creation of an egalitarian society by following the path of peace shown by Mahatma Gautam Buddha and Baba Saheb,” Chief Minister Yadav said.
He also said that his government will make the Buddhist Knowledge Studies University located in Sanchi in accordance with international standards .
“In the cabinet meeting held in Maheshwar on January 24 itself, we have approved Rs 25 crore to start the Faculty of Law in Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University located in Mhow. We will also make the Buddhist Knowledge Studies University located in Sanchi in accordance with international standards. All the necessary resources and facilities will be increased in it,” Chief Minister Yadav said.
The 9th International Buddhist Festival was attended by Buddhist scholars and followers from India and abroad participated.
During the festival, Chief Minister Yadav presented the International Buddha Peace Award 2025 to the personalities selected by the organizers. This award was given to Dr Sagar Joshi of Mumbai, Dr Ponchai Pinyapong from Thailand, Jaxana from Bodhgaya (Laos), Dr Thich Giak Lam from Vietnam, Dr Mithila Chaudhary from Thailand, Sanjay Ganvir, Rashmi Pandey, Vijay Khatarkar, Gaurav Kathane, Rajendra Prasad and other personalities.
Chief Minister Yadav also congratulated and wished the personalities who received the International Buddha Peace Award. On this occasion, other persons who contributed in the field of art, culture and literature were also honoured. (ANI)
