Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Kareena invited fans to join her in a screening of Raj Kapoor’s most iconic films. Remembering her grandfather’s illustrious career, she wrote:

A total of 10 films starring Raj Kapoor will be screened across 40 cities and 135 cinemas from December 13 to 15, marking the occasion. The screenings, to be held at PVR-Inox and Cinepolis cinemas, aim to offer audiences a memorable tribute in state-of-the-art venues nationwide.
As a special gesture, movie tickets will be priced at just Rs100 across all participating cinemas.
Earlier, actor Ranbir Kapoor highlighted the collaborative efforts behind the restoration of Raj Kapoor’s films. At IFFI 2024, he shared that the restoration is a joint initiative by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), the National Film Archive of India (NFAI), and the Film Heritage Foundation.
Reflecting on the importance of honouring cinematic legends, Ranbir said, “It’s important we remember our roots–not just Raj Kapoor, but so many filmmakers and artists who have left an indelible mark on Indian cinema.”
Raj Kapoor’s celebrated works, spanning nearly four decades, include iconic films such as Aag, Barsaat, Awaara, Shree 420, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, Mera Naam Joker, Bobby, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, and others.
Widely regarded as “The Greatest Showman,” Raj Kapoor was not only a filmmaker but also an actor and producer who built an unparalleled legacy with his storytelling and vision.
The legendary showman began his career as a child actor in Inquilab (1935). After his breakthrough role in Neel Kamal (1947), he delivered numerous blockbusters and founded his production house, RK Films, in 1948. (ANI)
