Panchkula (Haryana) [India], August 13 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday lambasted the opposition and said those asking for an account of our government should first explain why farmers, women, and the poor were exploited during their rule.
This statement came while he was attending the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies of various development projects.
Addressing the media persons, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini said, “Jobs are being given in a transparent manner. I am happy that more than 1,45,000 jobs have been given in Haryana in the last 10 years. For those who are asking for an account, I want to tell them to give an account of their last 10 years to the people of Haryana. They (Congress) should give their accounts to women, the way they were being exploited during their tenure. They should tell why women were oppressed during their tenure and no FIR could get registered. they should tell why farmers were exploited and made fun of by giving cheques of Rs 2, Rs 5, etc. during their rule. They should tell about how the poor were exploited due to they had to migrate.”
CM Saini further said, “They (Congress) used to announce schemes and we completed them. I want to ask Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda, you were the CM for 10 years and you announced that Rs. 1000 would be given to senior citizens. Did you give it? It was just an announcement. We gave those 1000 rupees. Not just Rs 1000, we also increased it to Rs. 3,000.”
Earlier on August 7, the BJP’s central leadership held a meeting with its Haryana leaders to strategize for the upcoming state assembly election.
The meeting took place at Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence in Delhi.
In attendance were Amit Shah, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, state election in-charges Dharmendra Pradhan and Biplav Dev, senior BJP leaders from the state, and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
The Haryana assembly election is scheduled for later this year. The BJP has been in power in the state since 2014 but will face strong competition from the Congress, which won half of the Lok Sabha seats in Haryana during the last general election. (ANI)
