New Delhi [India], October 21 (ANI): The Delhi Police wrote a letter to the social media application Telegram asking for information about the Telegram channel ‘Justice league India’ where information was written about the loud blast reported in a school in Prashant vihar in Rohini here.
The Delhi Police is also monitoring other social media platforms and seeking information.
A CCTV footage of the blast was posted on the Telegram channel along with a write-up after which the Delhi police wrote the letter.
However, no response has been received from Telegram.
The investigation in the Rohini blast is currently underway.
Giving information on the incident, the Delhi Police in an official statement said on October 20, “Today at 07:47 AM, a PCR call was received in which the caller informed that a blast with lots of noise took place near the CRPF school in Sector 14, Rohini. The SHO and staff reached the spot, where the school wall was found damaged with a foul smell. The glass of nearby shops and a car parked near the shop were also found to be damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured.”
According to the Delhi police, no conclusive statement has been made yet on what caused the blast near the school and authorities, including the Special Cell, are investigating.
Meanwhile, the incident has turned political scrutiny and the BJP attacked AAP and alleged that they were playing “dirty politics” over sensitive incidents.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said “”It is regrettable to see AAP leaders playing dirty politics over sensitive issues like the reported blast near a school in Rohini.”
He praised the Delhi Police, noting its high crime detection rate and expressing confidence that it will soon solve the latest cases.
“Delhi Police has a high crime detection record and has solved almost all incidents of crime reported in recent past. Similarly, we are confident that Delhi Police will solve today’s cases & nab the culprits at earliest and political parties should wait for the Police statement,” he said.
He also appealed to the police to further strengthen security in marketplaces ahead of the festive season. (ANI)
