Kharan [Balochistan], October 25, (ANI): The Baloch Yakjehti Committee will hold a peaceful protest rally in Kharan to raise their voice for disappeared youths due to an increase in the number of enforced disappearances by the Pakistan armed forces.
The protest rally will take place at 3 pm today in the Kharan district of Balochistan.
On Thursday, Ubaidullah Tagapi son of Haji Barkat Tagapi, was abducted during day time by armed forces, leading the family to organise a protest. However, the Pakistan armed forces harassed the family and forcibly stopped the demonstrations.
In a post on X, the BYC stated, “The State has normalised enforced disappearance of Baloch individuals. Given the increasing momentum of enforced disappearances, BYC has organised a series of protests all over Balochistan. Tomorrow – 25 October, at 3 pm – a peaceful protest rally will be organised in Kharan. We appeal to the people of Kharan to join this protest rally and raise their voices for Ubaidullah and other victims of enforced disappearance.”
Similarly, another protest was staged in the Panjgur district of Balochistan where one of the protestors Haseeb Baloch disappeared by the Pak law enforcement agency. Haseeb Baloch is a 22-year-old youth who graduated from ARID University and is a resident of Panjgur. A peaceful protest was organised in Panjgur but the state authorities used violence and abducted some of the protestors involved in the demonstrations.
BYC informed that Haseeb Baloch has been released, and is currently hospitalized in civil hospital Panjgur. He was extremely tortured and beaten.

Meanwhile, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) welcomed Sammi Baluch on officially joining the rights group. Sammi Deen Baloch has been a leading activist against Enforced Disappearances since the last 15 years. She is a Frontline Defender and a global voice against the Baloch Genocide.

Baloch masses from across Balochistan, under the banner of “Breaking Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances,” are resisting state-sponsored crimes against them. In this effort, five peaceful protests have been organized in different regions of Balochistan.
As part of this ongoing campaign, a peaceful protest was planned in Panjgur, where the administration and law enforcement agencies attempted to prevent people from participating. State authorities abducted a participant of protest and continue to monitor others involved in the protests. The lives of protesters are in grave danger, as they face the threat of enforced disappearances.
Previous protests were held in Karachi, Hub, Turbat, and Khuzdar, where the families of forcibly disappeared individuals registered their cases with the BYC.
The BYC’s campaign against enforced disappearances, which is used as a systematic tool to escalate the Baloch genocide, continues. We appeal to the Baloch people to join these protests and break the silence. (ANI)
