New Delhi [India], February 3 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday launched a scathing attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of lying to the people and failing to deliver on key promises.
While addressing a massive crowd during a public meeting in the national capital’s Dwarka assembly constituency, in a sarcastic jibe at AAP, Shah urged people to decide carefully between the “government of corruption and lies” or PM Modi who fulfils promises.
“On that day (February 5) you have to decide who will rule here for the next 5 years…On one side there is the AAP government of lies and corruption and on the other hand, is PM Modi who does what he promises,” Shah said.
Shah was addressing a rally in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Dwarka constituency, Parduymn Singh Rajput.
Claiming that Kejriwal “neither built toilets nor temples,” despite questioning the construction of Ram Mandir, he contrasted it with BJP’s purported efforts to build crores of toilets and also a grand Ram temple.
“Arvind Kejriwal has not done anything except lying and cheating. He (Kejriwal) used to say what is the need to build Ram Mandir, instead build toilets. I want to say Kejriwal, you neither built toilets nor temples, we built Rs 13 crore toilets and also worked on building a skyscraper Ram Mandir in Ayodhya,” he added.
The Union Home Minister further reiterated his promise of “burying naxalism to the ground” before March 31, 2026.
“You people should write down this date… Before March 31, 2026, we will free India from terrorism… we will bury Naxalism under the ground. PM Modi has worked to make this country safe and prosperous,” Shah said.
Continuing his attack at Congress, Shah talked about how the current BJP-led union government has improved the security of the nation and attacked the previous Congress government failed to do so.
Shah said, “For 10 years, the Sonia-Manmohan government was in power at the centre and terrorists used to come from Pakistan, carry out bomb blasts and then leave peacefully. No one used to do anything. In 2014, you made Narendra Modi the Prime Minister of the country, there were attacks in Uri and Pulwama, and within 10 days, we entered Pakistan and eliminated the terrorists by carrying out surgical and air strikes.”
Dwarka Assembly constituency is going to see a triangular contest between BJP’s Parduymn Singh Rajput, AAP’s Vinay Mishra and Congress’ Adarsh Shashtri.
The Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on February 5, with counting of votes to happen on February 8. (ANI)
