New Delhi [India], October 24 (ANI): The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and DRIIV (Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation) signed a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, marking a ground-breaking collaboration aimed at fostering innovation, enhancing operational safety, and supporting sustainable growth within the Indian aviation sector.
According to an official statement, the MoU was signed by Shyamli Haldar, ED (ATM), AAI & Shipra Mishra, CEO & MD, DRIIV. The event highlighted a shared commitment to creating a robust ecosystem that nurtures start-ups and accelerates the development of technological solutions tailored to the aviation industry. This partnership marks a significant step towards transforming India’s aviation landscape by promoting efficiency, safety, and environmentally sustainable practices.
On the occasion, M Suresh, Chairman, AAI, said, “This partnership with DRIIV is a pivotal moment for us. By leveraging innovation and emerging technologies, we are not only ensuring the safety and efficiency of aviation operations but also contributing to the sustainability of the industry.”
Shipra Misra, CEO & MD, DRIIV, remarked, “We are excited to collaborate with AAI and bring in innovative solutions from start-ups and research communities. This MoU will pave the way for future-ready, technology-driven solutions that will have a long-lasting impact on aviation in India.”
Under the AAI-DRIIV agreement, with support from AAI, DRIIV will lead the development of an innovation ecosystem by engaging start-ups to tackle specific challenges identified by AAI, focusing on safety, efficiency, and sustainability. With AAI offering expertise and relevant data for product development, DRIIV will identify and collaborate with quality start-ups to create solutions for critical civil aviation challenges.
DRIIV will also advance CARO (Civil Aviation Research Organization) as a premier R&D centre, collaborating with national and international research agencies to drive aviation technology aligned with India’s development goals. AAI and DRIIV will host innovation challenges at CARO, inviting start-ups, researchers, and tech experts to submit innovative solutions for the aviation sector.
As the Indian aviation industry continues to evolve, this strategic partnership promises to pave the way for a safer, more efficient, and sustainable future, positioning India as a leader in aviation innovation. (ANI)
