New Delhi [India], April 3 (ANI): After walking out of jail, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh on Wednesday reiterated support for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said that he was in jail for six months, and every worker, and leader of AAP is standing with Kejriwal.
Addressing his party workers, Sanjay Singh said that AAP was “born from agitation and they are not afraid of anything”.
“They want to break the AAP…’Tanashahi macha rakhi hai desh ke andar’. I was in jail for six months, and every worker, and leader of AAP is standing with Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal will not resign at all and will work for the two crore people of Delhi. It is said that how will one write a letter. I have come back after spending six months in jail. It is written in the jail manuals that any person can write unlimited letters while in jail. If someone wants to write a government letter, then permission is required from the court,” he said.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said that until the jailed leaders of the party comes out of jail, party will not celebrate.
“Sanjay Singh has just come out of the jail & thousands of party workers welcomed him…He (Sanjay Singh) said that this is not the time to celebrate but struggle. Three of our top leaders- Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain are still in jail. Until & unless they are released we will not celebrate we will keep on struggling,” he said.
Sanjay Singh’s father Dinesh Singh said, that he, his family, party workers and the party see this as a special moment.
“Based on my past experiences this decision which came was unpredictable. I had faith in only God and Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud,” he said.
AAP workers and Sanjay Singh supporters showered flower petals on party MP’s father Dinesh Singh.
Delhi Minister Atishi said, “Truth has triumphed. For the last two years, they have been investigating this fake liquor policy case. ED conducted several raids but still, they could not find corruption money from AAP leaders.”
“Now the AAP workers will fight against this autocracy with hope in their hearts. Sanjay Singh is the lion (sher) of Aam Aadmi Party and he will now roar against the autocracy of Narendra Modi,” she added.
AAP leader Jasmine Shah termed Sanjay Singh as “Lion”.
“Sanjay Singh is AAP’s lion. BJP put him behind bars in a false case and no money trail was found. Supreme Court said that this is a false case and a plan to finish AAP. Sanjay Singh being released proves that there is no money trail. The struggle will continue,” he said.
AAP national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said that truth has triumphed.
“After several raids, not a single penny was recovered. The Supreme Court also said that no money trail was recovered. Our struggle is on. Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain have been framed in a false case,” she said.
However, the BJP pointed out that the AAP MP is out on bail and is not free of charges.
Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva sid, “When a leader of a corrupt party comes out on bail and the party celebrates, then it tells the mentality of the party. Being released on bail is not being free of charges. When bail is granted, it ends also. The character of Aam Aadmi Party is lies, deceit and manipulation.”
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari told ANI that he welcomes every decision of the court.
“The kind of celebrations (by AAP) we are seeing makes it appear as if he has been acquitted in the case. The court has given him bail with conditions. The case is still going on. Giving bail is the job of the court and we welcome every decision of the court,” he said.
Also, earlier in the day, The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi accepted the bail bond and imposed certain conditions on Sanjay Singh, including that he furnish his itinerary through email and keep his Google location on if he leaves Delhi-NCR.
The Court has also imposed conditions, including that he will surrender his passport, not leave the country, provide his mobile number to the IO and cooperate in the investigation.
Sanjay Singh was arrested in October last year by the ED in the Delhi Excise Policy money laundering case. Recently, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also arrested and sent to judicial custody until April 15. Manish Sisodia is also in judicial custody in this case. (ANI)
