New Delhi [India], January 19 (ANI): BJP candidate from Kalkaji assembly for the Delhi assembly polls, Ramesh Bidhuri, has lashed out against Chief Minister Atishi, saying that she is canvassing for votes after allegedly neglecting them for four and half years.
Bidhuri told ANI, “People are facing a very difficult situation. Streets and roads are in shambles. The sewerage system is malfunctioning. You can’t enter the house without mud stuck to your shoes. Drinking water is contaminated,” he alleged.
Bidhuri who has recently been in the news for his comments on Atishi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi further said, “…Kalkaji assembly has become synonymous with hell… Atishi who did not show her face to the people for four and half years is going about in the streets asking people to make her the Chief Minister…”
“Kejriwal said he is the contender for the Chief Ministerial post. And Kejriwal said that she is the temporary CM,” he said, referring to Atishi.
Taking a dig against Atishi against whom he is contesting against from the Kalkaji assembly constituency, Bidhuri asked, “Some time ago, you said ‘I would waive the electricity bill’. So waive the electricity bill today?”
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Satish Upadhyay, who is contesting from the Malviya Nagar assembly constituency, said that the stage is set for the lotus to bloom.
“Campaigning is going on full vigour…People are happy. The stage is set for the lotus to bloom. The government of the BJP will be formed this time in Delhi,” he told ANI while campaigning at Gulmohar Enclave here on Sunday.

Delhi will go to the polls on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
A three-way contest is on the cards in Delhi between the ruling AAP, BJP, and Congress. Congress, which was in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has suffered setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win any seat.
AAP dominated the 2020 assembly elections by winning 62 out of 70 seats while the BJP got eight seats. (ANI)
