New Delhi [India], December 10 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat on Tuesday lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party and said that the party’s leaders should be ashamed that they were building their ‘Sheesh Mahal’ while the nation was going through the tough times of Covid-19.
Speaking to ANI, Sehrawat said “AAP leaders should be ashamed that when the nation was going through Covid, they were making ‘Sheesh Mahal’. Rs 42 crores belonging to the people of Delhi have been used in the interiors of that house… Arvind Kejriwal has committed a huge fraud with the people of Delhi…”
BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, “On one hand, Delhi citizens are not even getting clean drinking water, on the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal’s royal bath cost up to Rs 4 crore…. Now it makes sense why he didn’t want to leave ‘Sheesh Mahal,’ why media was not allowed inside the residence, and why Atishi Marlena was adopting various tactics to secure the keys of ‘Sheesh Mahal’…. Corruption also played a role in such provocative expenditures….”
Earlier on Tuesday, Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeba shared a video of the AAP Chief’s house and called it a ‘Sheesh Mahal’ and said that it was not the CM’s residence but a museum of corruption.
“It is the ‘sheesh mahal’ which he wanted to hide from the people of Delhi. We have shown the first video of it. Look at the bathroom and the gym of that house. There are granites and equipment, look at the sauna and Jacuzzi baths, like that of a 7-star resort. This is the reality of the black money hoarded by Arvind Kejriwal who calls himself a common man. He has to answer why he wanted to hide his house and hide the key to the house. It is not a CM residence; it is a museum of corruption. They should open it for the people. I challenge him to open the doors of this palace and tell the people of Delhi how he has fooled them… This is a government of scams. They have shamed Delhi,” Sachdeva told ANI.
The BJP had even protested over Kejriwal’s sheesh mahal last year claiming that AAP used the money allocated during Covid times.
The BJP has alleged that around Rs 45 crore was spent on the “renovation” of Kejriwal’s official residence – 6, Flagstaff Road – in the Civil Lines area of the city. (ANI)
