Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], November 23 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Saturday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi following party’s thumping victory in Maharashtra Assembaly polls and said people bestowed their trust on the leadership of PM Modi.
The Mahayuti has won or leading in over 230 seats out of total 288, with the BJP alone in 132 seats, Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has won or is ahead in 57 seats and NCP led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is poised to win 41 seats. The constituents of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) suffered a rude jolt with Shiv Sena (UBT) led by Uddhav Thackeray poised to win just 20 seats, Congress 16 and NCP(SP) led by Sharad Pawar only 10 seats.
Rajasthan CM Sharma said, “I congratulate PM Modi as Mahayuti has formed the government in Maharashtra with a historic margin…The public has bestowed their trust on the leadership of PM Modi…There has been an increase in the vote share of the BJP…We are committed to the development and welfare of Rajasthan…I express my gratitude to the voters of Rajasthan also who voted for the BJP in the Rajasthan by-election”
Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that they were confident of getting the majority but results are unprecedented.
“We were confident that we (Mahayuti) will get a majority and form the government in Maharashtra, but we got an unprecedented victory. The way the people of Maharashtra have shown their trust in Mahayuti, our responsibilities have increased and we will work to fulfil all the expectations of the people,” said.
Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini also showred praises on PM Modi and said, “…Mahayuti government has got the historic win in the Maharashtra Assembly polls…I congratulate everyone…This is the win of PM Modi’s vision and policies…Maharashtra people have voted for development under PM Modi’s leadership…”
BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is edging closer to a historic win in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, leading in over 231 out of 288 seats while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is leading in just 48 seats. (ANI)
