Amritsar (Punjab) [India], November 18 (ANI): Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi visited and offered prayers at Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar on Monday.
During his visit, the Rae Bareli MP also offered ‘Sewa’ at the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

“Darshan, Simran, Samarpan! Today, I bowed my head at Shri Harmindir Sahib in Amritsar and offered my seva,” Rahul Gandhi stated in a post on Facebook.
Congress general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal, who accompanied Rahul Gandi took to social media platform X, and said he joined Rahul Gandhi in a “surreal experience” of performing Seva at the holy Harmandir Sahib Golden Temple in Amritsar.
“Joined Sh. @RahulGandhi ji in a surreal experience of performing Seva at the holy Harmandir Sahib Golden Temple in Amritsar. Service of humanity is a deeply spiritual experience and doing it under the great Guru Nanak Dev’s auspices gives me great solace!” he stated in a post.
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi held a press conferences in Mumbai and Ranchi during which he targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the assembly elections in Jharkhand and Maharashtra.

In Jharkhand, the Congress leader accused the BJP-led Centre of “working against Jharkhand” and “not giving Rs 1.36 lakh crore dues” to the state.
“This election is an election of ideologies. On one side is the INDIA alliance which is protecting the Constitution and wants to run a government of the poor and the tribals. On the other side are those forces which want to crush the Constitution. Senior leaders of the BJP and the RSS have said that they want to change the Constitution. We have said that we will conduct a caste census and remove the 50 per cent reservation limit,” he said.
“In Jharkhand, we will increase the ST reservation from 26 per cent to 28 per cent, SC reservation from 10 per cent to 12 per cent and OBC reservation from 14 per cent to 27 per cent,” he added.
Prior to that, Rahul Gandhi also held a press conference in Mumbai and attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his “ek hain to safe hain” remarks.
The LoP in the Lok Sabha framed the election as a contest between the aspirations of the common people and the influence of a few wealthy individuals. He alleged that BJP wants to direct Rs 1 lakh crore to a single billionaire, a move that would disadvantage farmers, workers, and the unemployed.
“The Maharashtra election is an election of ideologies and an election between 1-2 billionaires and the poor. The billionaires want the land of Mumbai to go into their hands. The estimate is that Rs 1 lakh crores will be given to one billionaire. Our thinking is that Maharashtra, the farmers of Maharashtra, the poor, the unemployed, and the youth need help,” Gandhi said.
The assembly elections for 81-member Jharkhand assembly are being held in two phases. In the first phase, voting was held in the 43 constituencies on November 13. While elections for the remaining 38 seats will take place in the second phase on November 20.
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20. The counting of votes for both assembly polls will take place on November 23. (ANI)
