New Delhi [India], October 20 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla slammed the INDIA bloc ahead of the assembly elections in Jharkhand and Maharashtra, and said the alliance has “no vision” but only confusion.
He further alleged that everything is not fine with the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in the two poll-bound states, while the ticket distribution in NDA is taking place smoothly.
Speaking to ANI on Saturday, Poonawalla said, “There is no vision of INDI alliance in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. There is only confusion. All is not well in the MVA in Maharashtra, but that is not just the scenario in Maharashtra only. In Jharkhand, on one hand, ticket distribution between the BJP and it’s allies went very smoothly.”
“The BJP has released their first list of 66 candidates for the Jharkhand assembly elections. On the other hand, RJD has expressed their displeasure over the seat-sharing of the INDI alliance. That is also the same scenario in Jammu, Punjab, Haryana and so many other states. There is only confusion in these parties,” he added.
On October 19, Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, who is party’s in-charge for Maharashtra, said on Saturday that seat-sharing meetings for assembly polls were being held between Maha Vikas Aghadi constituents and an announcement is expected to be made soon.
Being asked on Priyanka Gandhi contesting the by-elections from Wayanad in Kerala, Poonawalla said that Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the public of Wayanad.
“Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the public of Wayanad, as the public had voted for him when he lost the Amethi elections. He has betrayed the people of Wayanad. On one hand, Congress keeps talking about love and peace, but did they ask their allies in Wayanad if Priyanka Gandhi was allowed to contest for the Wayanad by-polls? The left party has also given their candidate now,” Poonawalla said.
Congress General Secretary and United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate Priyanka Gandhi will file her nomination papers on October 23 for the upcoming parliamentary bypolls in Kerala’s Wayanad, sources said.
Wayanad will go to the polls on November 13 along with voting for bye-elections in 47 assembly seats across 15 states. The first phase of assembly polls in Jharkhand will also be held on November 13. (ANI)
