Wayanad (Kerala) [India], October 23 (ANI): As Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra files nomination on Wednesday afternoon after her roadshow in Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Navya Haridas began a door-to-door campaign. Haridas has been a two-time Kozhikode Corporation Councillor and is contesting the by-election against United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate Vadra.

Haridas started her campaign three days ago with a roadshow and is supposed to file her nomination on Thursday. She said that she is getting a positive response from the public. “Not only the BJP workers, but others are also welcoming,” the BJP candidate said.

“We are getting a very positive response from the public. We started the campaign three days back with a roadshow. Not only the BJP workers but the other public also welcomed very warmly. She (Priyanka Gandhi Vadra) is starting her campaign today. She has come here with her family. We have already started three days back and the campaigning is going on in full fledge. I will file my nomination tomorrow, October 24, at 12:00 PM,” Haridas informed.

Reacting to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra filing the nomination, Haridas said that the Congress leader’s enthusiasm was only limited for a day. She said that Vadra would return to Delhi after filing the nomination as it is just a seven-day thing for her.

“Today, she (Priyanka Gandhi Vadra) is filing her nomination and we could see that it is just a ‘josh’ for a day. Soon after filing the nomination, she will be returning. It is just a 7-day schedule for the program. But I can promise that I will be with the people of Wayanad for the coming 5 years,” Haridas said.

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi arrived in Kerala on Wednesday. Rahul Gandhi participated in a roadshow at Kalpetta town ahead of Priyanka Gandhi’s nomination filing for the Wayanad by-polls. (ANI)
